Brunello di Montalcino is the only wine from the Montalcino region that must be made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. The wine is aged for at least two years in wooden barrels and at least four months in the bottle. The Riserva wine must age for at least six months in the bottle and is released one year after the regular wine.
